Standing for re-election

Why do you want to be a Governor?
I wish to continue my work representing public views from the Easington area which I have done for the past 3 years. These public views are gained from being active within the community as a governor of two local schools along with performing electoral register duties. My 100% attendance at Trust meetings has enabled me to achieve this by presenting questions from members and residents which are relevant to our area. This has been supported by serving on several committees including:
  • PEQS – Patient Experience and Quality Standards, visiting both Hospitals and the Community asking patients their honest opinions.
  • PIEG – Patient Information and Evaluation Group, making hospital leaflets easier to understand.
  • Membership Strategy Committee, which enrols members of the public to the Trust, where I have performed a successful role.
I also have a continued interest in the development and progression in standards required in modern hospitals.
As a serving Governor, representing the Easington area, it would be an honour if re-elected to serve another term.

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
I have a diverse and ranging involvement within my local community to accurately represent public opinion.
I have the ability to direct questions and concerns from the public and members to the relevant departments of the Trust, obtaining satisfactory answers.
I have the time to dedicate to the role demonstrated by my involvement with various Trust committees and attending members’ events outside of official requirements. I was also honoured to help judge the Hartlepool Mail ‘Best of Health Awards 2013’.
