Why do you want to be a Governor?
I have attended meetings for some time now and am disappointed at the lack of support from residents. The public like to moan but do little else. I feel it is now time to move my concerns/involvement to a higher level

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
For 40 years I have held senior posts at Board level covering newspapers, finance, insurance and the law. I have held a number of voluntary positions as a school govenor, youth centre trustee and a member of the Old Rating Appeals Panel. Currently I am involved with Housing Hartlepool Tenants Panels and am an founding member of its scrutiny panel

Why do you want to be a Governor?
Between 2002 and 2012 I was a patient of the three Teesside hospitals and during this period I was included in diagnostic training for graduate doctors and gained an understanding on the methods applied by the various departments. During this period my treatment was excellent, and by seeking nomination as a Governor of the Trust I would hope my experiences can be of value, and at the same time give something back for the treatment I received.

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
I was employed for 35years within the regional Electricity Board initially as an electrician working my way through to manager of the electrical contracting part of the organisation. During this period I developed skills in client requirements, trade union representations, inter departmental co-operation, committee work including health and safety, and finance. I was also involved in the proposals and changeovers when the company was privatised, skills which I feel can be of benefit to patient care.
