Margaret Docherty

Why do you want to be a Governor?
Health Care is an important part of our lives. Providing the best health care possible, to enable patients to have a good quality of life, this is what I am passionate about. During my life, I have always committed time to helping others. I believe this is the intention of The NHS Foundation Trust. I want to be a part of that team.

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
I was employed by the Fire Service, 22 years within the Fire Control, progressing to the rank of Senior Fire Control Operator. Serving the community, committed, dealing efficiently with all emergencies. People’s lives are precious, their safety comes first.
For many years I was a Governor of the Norton School, also a volunteer within the Special Needs department. I was involved with the Fund raising for school projects.
At present I am a Governor at the Frederick Nattrass School and a member of the Norton Medical Centre Patients Group.
I took part in charity Bike rides, China, Russia and Israel, all were over 300miles.
I know that I would be an asset to the Trust

Standing for re-election

Why do you want to be a Governor?
I have lived in Stockton for 46 years and been an active governor for the last 3 years. I am currently a patient at North Tees Hospital making regular visits which gives me a valuable insight into practices regarding patients and their relatives.
I have experienced both excellent and somewhat inferior dealings with North Tees NHS and acted accordingly. For this reason I feel being part of the team of governors enables me to share my experiences and opinions with others in order to support enhancing performance and facilities.
I am interested in the communication systems within the NHS and new innovations for the advancement of medical and surgical treatments. I value the importance of cleanliness throughout, in particular efforts to eradicate MRSA. Being elected as governor would allow me to assist in monitoring actions taken by all Trust members.

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
I am a retired teacher/director of Further Education. I have, in my opinion, excellent communication skills both informal and formal and IT skills including researching on the Internet. I consider listening to and supporting others very important. Working as part of a team is a skill I have happily developed over the years. I am hard of hearing which means I pay careful attention to what other people are saying and consider eye to eye contact very important as is considering other people and their opinions. Hopefully these skills would be of value to governors and members of the NHS Trust team.

Standing for re-election

I am seeking re-election as Govenor for the Stockton constituency, within North Tees & Hartlepool Trust. I am a former employee of The Trust, I was a member of staff there for 32 yrs, and I now work within education. But I am passionate about health care and still take a great interest in the health service and the future of North Tees and Hartlepool Trust.

I have attended many meetings on behalf of the people of the Stockton Constituency, and I am not afraid to challenge or question any concerns that would relay the views of the people of Stockton. With your continuing support I would be proud to continue as a Govenor of the Trust. I would appreciate your votes and support, and thank you in advance for voting

Why do you want to be a Governor?
Dear Sir. I wish to be considered as a Governor for the North Tees NHS Trust. The reason for this is because I have lived most of my 59 years within the Trus area. I have seen many changes in this time, but like most things they can always room for improvement, but at the same time it is best to leave some systems as they are if they are working well.

What skills do you feel you could bring to this role?
I have been a working skilled tradesman most of my adult life. In my working life I have had to make some basic and common sence judgements about various aspects of my employment.
This means that it is better to make the common sence judgement, but also you have to look at the big picture and make a decission that is best for all concerned and most of all the NHS Trust itself.
